Content in this online course offers an introduction to the UW Madison Safety Department and an overview of occupational health and safety topics including animal contact safety, zoonoses, allergies & asthma, ergonomics, medical concerns, immunizations, injury and exposure protocols, syringe use guidelines, and personal protective equipment.

Notes
This course is one of three requirements for personnel with animal contact.  If you have not already, you will also need to complete the UW Animal User Certification with the Research Animal Resources Center (RARC) and the Animal Contact Risk Questionnaire with UHS Occupational Medicine.

Cage Wash and Autoclave Safety

Description:

This on-line course emphasizes the general principles of Cage Wash & Autoclave Safety for the animal care staff working in animal facilities that uses a cage washer and autoclave for cleaning and disinfecting animal cages, bedding/waste and other animal related equipment.

Additional cage wash escape training can be provided at your facility by the Animal Research Safety team as per requested. Please contact Animal Research Safety.
