Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) is offering HeartSaver® CPR AED — a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. Each course is roughly four hours long.
This course teaches skills with the research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training at no cost to the student.

Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) is also offering BLS-Health Care Provider CPR training for those within the healthcare field who are required to have the BLS-Health Care Provider card. The BLS-Health Care Provider is also about a four-hour PWW class that requires passing a written and practical test. BLS-Health Care Provider Class schedule-based demand or can be performed by appointment.

Upon completion of this courses, students receive an American Heart Association course completion card.

This online training can be used as a refresher for those of you who have already taken the initial fire extinguisher training course.

Users will automatically be registered for this Learn@UW course upon completion of the initial fire extinguisher training.

In-person training outlining the most common types of extinguishers, selection of proper fire extinguisher and proper fire extinguisher usage. Includes live-fire hands-on demonstration.
