Chemical Redistribution

The Environment, Health & Safety chemical redistribution program is completely free to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus!

Faculty move to other universities, researchers retire, and buildings are remodeled. Our team will come in to clean up the lab and remove all leftover chemicals. While many chemical items have deteriorated over time, many chemicals remain viable and may still be factory sealed. We catalog and index these surplus items and make the chemicals available for free to our campus community via our Chemical Redistribution list. When you use these surplus chemicals, you save money for your lab, help reduce UW–Madison’s hazardous waste disposal bill, and help our environment by minimizing the chemicals that must be disposed of. Review the list below and send us your order. We process orders as we receive them, on a first come, first served basis.
