- Description:
The “Biosafety Required Training” course fulfills the biosafety training requirement for personnel listed on a biosafety protocol.
As of Dec. 2016, this course replaces Biosafety 101, 104, 201 to fulfill the Biosafety training requirement.
“Biosafety Required Training” course consists of 6 modules: Introduction to Biosafety Risk Assessment & Mitigation, NIH Guidelines & Research Oversight at UW-Madison, Biosafety Protocol Process, Procedural Risks & Mitigation, Exposure Response & Reportable Events, and Disinfection, Decontamination, & Biohazard Disposal.
Individuals whose Biosafety 101, 104, 201 training is up to date (taken within the last 5 years), do not need to complete the new required course at this time.
Individuals whose Biosafety 101, 104, 201 training has expired will renew their training using the new “Biosafety Required Training”.
Individuals who are new and have not yet completed online biosafety training will need to complete the new “Biosafety Required Training.”
Renewal Process: Review the course materials in Learn@UW and pass the quiz with a 70% or higher score. Self-registration is not required for renewal; this course will be available on your Learn@UW “My Home” page indefinitely for your renewal convenience.
