After successful completion of this course, you will be a certified Radiation Worker at UW-Madison. This course consists of three modules that will introduce you to basic radiation safety principles, X-ray safety for users of clinical x-ray devices, and use of radioactive materials in animals. You will take a quiz and must score 80% or better to pass.
If you will use radioactive materials in animals, you must also complete the in-person Radiation Safety 101, Part II. RS 101 Part II is offered at 30 East Campus Mall and at WIMR. It covers practical aspects of our program and safe use of radionuclides in the laboratory. This in-person training is mandatory for all radioactive materials users at UW-Madison.
