Species Specific Safety Training

Description:

Work with animals comes with inherent risk, and these risks will vary depending on the species involved. This course provides an overview of the specific physical hazards, allergens, and zoonotic diseases in which you may be exposed to while working with various research models. This course is broken up into the following modules:

  • Rodents (mice and rats)
  • Pocket Pets (rabbits, hamsters, chinchillas, gerbils, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, and ferrets)
  • Swine
  • Cattle
  • Goats and Sheep
  • Cats and Dogs
  • Horses
  • Fish
  • Herptiles (amphibians and reptiles)
  • Birds (wild and domestic)
Audience

This course is intended for animal care workers who work with different research model species. Users can select only the species relevant to their work or watch the entire training. Once registered, this course will be continually available to you for any renewal or refresher training
