CALL 911 IN ALL EMERGENCIES.
AN EMERGENCY IS AN IMMEDIATE THREAT TO HEALTH, LIFE AND/OR PROPERTY THAT REQUIRES AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE.
When reporting an emergency:
- Stay on the line with the dispatcher;
- Provide the address, location and a description of the emergency;
- Provide the phone number at your location;
- Provide a thorough description of the incident to assure appropriate resources are dispatched.
Dial 911 from a campus building phone. Your call will be connected to UW–Madison Police dispatch. If you dial 911 from a non-campus phone, your call will first be routed to a dispatch center other than UW–Madison Police. State that you are calling from UW–Madison campus.
REPORTING INCIDENTS
Environment, Health & Safety must be contacted for follow-up after incidents involving biological, chemical or radioactive substances, or any other physical hazards.
